Close-up of the #DisneyandVans #minniemouse @vans_66 slip on #disneystyle
First I have to say I was really frustrated by the lack of marketing that went into this Vans and Disney collaboration. I suppose it was intentional, to build anticipation. But for me, I like to plan. So I wanted to know exactly when and where to find what I wanted. Basically, I had to stalk the twitter hashtag #DisneyandVans to get somewhat of an idea as to what ALL of the shoes looked like beforehand. Then if it weren't for Tilly's tweeting the release was at midnight, I wouldn't have thought to check the Vans website at 9pm because I am on the West Coast.
Initially I ordered these. The Minnie Mouse slip-on.
The box is super cool. Seems silly to keep the box, but it is just really neat so I am going to. Even the tissue paper is covered in Disney characters.
After I made my order, my husband surprised me by ordering two pairs for himself (Winnie the Pooh and Mickey) and then another pair for me (Ariel) so as soon as those arrive I will post some up close and personal shots of those as well.
They are a bit pricier than the usual Vans, but they are a Disney hybrid so that is somewhat understandable. I checked again for availability and it looks like they still have many styles and sizes ready to sell. I was kind of hoping it would be a bit more exclusive, as they had pretty much marketed it to be... but regardless, I am happy that two of my favorite brands came together for the collaboration on my feet.

Other stores are carrying the shoes like Tilly's and PacSun. Nordstrom has only received the toddler/children's shoes.
