Tips, tricks and pics from HR: decorate your desk like a boss

Tips, tricks and pics from HR: decorate your desk like a boss

Heading into the business world or moving into a new office?  Maybe you just need to refresh your work space.  I have a few ideas for you that are inspiring, classy, fun, and HR approved.

All of these items were found on Polyvore.

I like mixing and matching patters, it is a fun way to express yourself and your moods.  Some office essentials that you need is one piece of inspiring art.  Get a quote or saying that will motivate you to push through even on the hardest of days.  I recommend only one or two personal pictures in your office.  There is an essential need to separate home and work for various reasons.  One so you are not too distracted, and two just because the office is not the place to bring your personal life.

Having a compact is a must.  I keep one on my desk at all times so I can check my teeth or lipstick after I have a snack.  A cute mousepad and phone charger will add a little pop of color to your space.  Even though no one really uses paperweights anymore, I love them as some bling-y décor.  A small succulent will add some life to your area.

Get yourself a cute planner or notebook and pen.  That way in meetings if you step away, you always know which one is yours when you come back and no one shady can jack your stuff.  Designers are making all kinds of office goodies these days and there are about a billion things to choose from on Etsy.

Have fun, just keep it classy and professional.

If you have any questions on whether or not an item would be appropriate for the office, feel free to leave me a comment and I will answer you.
