WEN by Chaz Dean

If you have ever seen the infomercials, or been to the WEN by Chaz Dean hair care website you may know about this life-changing (or at least shower-changing) product. Direct from the brand:

"WEN® Cleansing Conditioner is a revolutionary new concept in hair care. A 5-in-1 formula, this one product takes the place of your shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, detangler and leave-in conditioner. It cleanses hair thoroughly but without lathering and all the harsh ingredients that may be found in ordinary shampoos—it is designed so it won't strip your hair and scalp of their natural oils. Your hair is left with sheen, moisture, manageability and better color retention."

I had the opportunity to try this in the limited Fall Ginger Pumpkin (YUM!) AND in Sweet Almond Mint (from: Influenster VoxBox)

First let me give you a bit of my hair history... I have just beyond shoulder length hair that is naturally curly, thick, and often unruly.  Typically I would only wash my hair 3-4 times per week, with a medicated shampoo because I have have a life-long struggle with the flakies.  Also, I would flat iron my hair so I would try and extend the "style" for as long as possible.  Rarely am I able to wear my hair naturally curly because I am not a fan of curl products and my curls seemed to be divided.  Half of my head would curl great, and the other half would look horrible.

Here is my experience using WEN by Chaz Dean...

After the first use I was unsure how I felt.  Other than the scent being amazing I was confused.  Even though I knew it wasn't supposed to lather, and it wasn't really a "shampoo" I felt kind of not clean afterwards.  But I let my hair dry naturally just to see what it would do.  My curls instantly reacted to this product, and with minimal frizz I was able to wear my hair curly for an entire day and not be embarrassed to leave the house.  It was a small breakthrough.

I tried it again 24 hours later.  The scent was comforting and I felt like it was actually cleaning my hair this time.  Not sure if it was real, or purely mental.  This time the test was to flat iron my hair.  Surprisingly my hair handled the iron better than normal.  I found I had to use less Argan Oil than I would typically use before and after styling.  For 48 hours my hair never lost it's shape and didn't feel dirty.

My third try I was excited.  I had seen improvement with each wash before, and had high hopes I would continue this wonderful WEN journey successfully.  There really is something truly unusual yet unbelievably exceptional about this product.  The ONLY thing I don't like about it is that it costs more than what I normally use.

However, I may be able to justify this expense to my spouse for the following reasons:

I no longer need to purchase both a shampoo and conditioner.

I no longer need to purchase a leave-in conditioner.

I no longer need to purchase expensive oils for flat-iron styling.

I no longer need to purchase "special" curling products to try and control my hair.

This particular Fall Ginger Pumpkin cleansing conditioner is right around $30 shipped from QVC.  I found that I did not need to use the full amount of pumps to achieve great results.  You may be able to use a little less product to make it last longer.   There are other WEN by Chaz Dean products available through both QVC and the WEN hair care website.  If you go to either site you will see the THOUSANDS of rave reviews the products have received.

The Sweet Almond Mint sent to me through Influenster is part of a 30-day Healthy Hair Care System and retails for $29.95 and that includes the Cleansing Conditioner, Styling Cream, Hair Treatment, Texture Balm and Comb.

(I'm DYING to try the rest!)  products are also available by clicking here  www.chazdean.com

I loved watching Chaz's empire build as I admired him through the television via the show: Flipping Out.  I'm so honored to have had the opportunity to try these products and can truly say that it is a great product and I understand why he is so much behind it!
